Spring Arrives In Galway

Spring has arrived and those dark days are behind us once again. Nothing shouts louder in our garden that spring is on its way than the daffodils that bloom each year around Saint Patrick’s day.

Flowers have appeared on my tayberry plant this summer and it is looking good for a nice crop of berries. This is my plants second summer. The fruit appears on canes from the previous year. Last summer one berry, this year enough for tayberries and ice-cream. A tayberry is a hybrid of a blackberry and a raspberry.

Yellow Iris

When driving near Athenry, Co. Galway this weekend I spotted beautiful yellow flowers growing in that low lying marshy ground. I grabbed this photo on my phone.
