Here are a few images I captured on a day cycling around Clare Island. It was a great day out, you can hire bikes on the island and a day is just enough to whet your appetite for a return visit.

The Saw Doctors have a song called Clare Island if you fancy listening to it 🙂

Shag - Clare Island

I took this photo just before I got the ferry to Clare Island from the main land (Roonagh Quay). It was a pretty dull morning and this was the very first picture I took. There seems to be a colony of Shags near the harbour, but try as I might I could not get a better picture of these guys. Still, it’s not everyone who gets a good shag on Clare Island!
